A few weeks ago I started using the DermaTx Rejuvenate At-home Microdermabrasion system and can understand now (The DermaTx Complete Resurfacing System 'Brighten' has been shortlisted in the 'Premium Skincare Product' category of the Pure Beauty Awards) why other beauty bloggers and beauty enthusiasts spoke so highly about it.  I'd never tried microdermabrasion before but I wish I'd discovered it sooner especially now I see and feel the benefits to my skin and complexion.

I use a lot of products on my skin on a daily basis and being a regular wearer or Make-up my sensitive skin tends to suffer from glogged/large pores, blemishes and blackheads. Over the years I've used products that have helped in one way or another but haven't really combated the large pores and blackheads/breakouts.

I was approached a few weeks ago by the Lovely Andrea at DermaTx to review the 'DermaTx 'Rejuvenate' Microdermabrasion system and jumped at the chance. It was a new approach to skincare for me and I was excited to try it, especially after all the positive things I'd heard about it. To give an honest and accurate review I have been using this system for 4 weeks (Microdermabrasion Treatment Twice a week, Cleansing Treatment, Everyday) and to say that I'm impressed with the results is an understatement!

Both treatments have worked wonders on my skin, let me tell you all about them!

Beauty Blogette - DermaTx Rejuvenate Microdermabrasion System

The treatment cream contain professional grade corundum (aluminium oxide) crystals – the same as those used in microdermabrasion machines used in dermatology clinics. So, it looks like some mechanical peel, but it shouldn’t be massaged into skin with fingers, but with device that uses sonic method. You can feel the crystals in cream under your fingers, but when you treat your skin with the help of device, you can’t feel anything. Like nothing is happening. They do not scratch the skin, not even a little, but the results are immediately visible. After the first use – the skin is deeply cleansed and becomes visibly radiant. It becomes very soft and smooth. It is recommended to use it 1-2 times a week. With every new use, the results are better. Pores are purified and minor skin irregularities are removed. After treatment, skin care products are better absorbed, which is also a big plus. The treatment is so gentle and the results are amazing, so I’m amazed with the microdermabrasion system.

Joanne MallonDermaTx Home Microdermabrasion Review by Joanne Mallon - Opposable Thumbs

Home Microdermabrasion System

Excuse my ignorance, but before I was asked to do this review I didn't even know that microdermabrasion was something you could do at home. I thought it was a fancy facial treatment that celebs have done in salons, or maybe at a pinch in their mansions.

But it turns out that us mere mortals can have a go too, as there are now a range of home microdermabrasion systems available. I was approached by Dermacare Direct, a UK family firm from Leicester, to try out their new system.
